Installing Fernand on your phone

Fernand is a progressive web app, which means you can install it on your mobile device just like a regular app. This works seamlessly on both iOS and Android devices, allowing you to access Fernand's features right from your home screen, and get push notifications for important activity events that require timely responses like new chat requests.

Installing on iOS

To install Fernand as a progressive web app on your iOS device:

  1. Open Fernand in your Safari browser

  2. Tap the share icon (the square with an upward-pointing arrow)

  3. Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen

  4. Give the app a name like Fernand and tap Add to install it

Installing on Android

To install Fernand as a progressive web app on your Android device:

  1. Open Fernand in your Chrome browser

  2. Tap the menu icon (the three dots in the top right)

  3. Select Add to Home screen

  4. Give the app a name like Fernand and tap Add to install it


Enabling push notifications

Fernand can send you push notifications through your web browser, keeping you up-to-date on important activity in your conversations. You can set push notifications for these type of events:

  • A new email conversation is received

  • A new chat conversation is received

  • Activity in anything assigned to you

  • Activity in all unassigned conversations

  • A message you sent failed to be delivered

  • You are @mentioned on a comment

  1. Open the Notifications settings in Fernand

  2. Toggle on the Browser option

  3. Select the types of activity you want to receive notifications for, such as new messages, mentions, or assignment updates

  4. Click Save to apply your notification preferences

With Fernand installed as a progressive web app and browser notifications enabled, you'll have instant access to your conversations and stay on top of important updates no matter where you are.
